Embark Studios has confirmed that changes are coming to the overpowered Stitcher SMG in a future update.

ARC Raiders developer Embark Studios has confirmed that balance adjustments for the popular Stitcher weapon are currently in development as part of an upcoming patch. The changes aim to address long-standing community concerns about the weapon’s dominance in both PvP and PvE combat. EZNPC ARC Raiders offers a variety of in-game items like weapons, armor, and rare collectibles that can enhance your gameplay and make your experience more exciting.

The Stitcher, a common gray-tier submachine gun, has consistently outperformed rarer firearms like the Bobcat thanks to its exceptional fire rate and low crafting cost. This imbalance has drawn criticism from players who argue that such a low-rarity weapon should not overshadow high-tier options. Community managers on Discord recently stated that the team is “looking into balance” for the Stitcher, along with other equipment such as the Kettle and Trigger Nades, following delays over the holiday period.

Many players view tuning the Stitcher as a necessary step toward restoring fairness. A fully upgraded Stitcher can dominate close-range combat, leaving little incentive to craft or equip purple- and pink-tier weapons. Potential adjustments could include reducing its fire rate, refining its damage falloff, or modifying magazine capacity to better align its effectiveness with its intended rarity level.

Patch 1.11.0 introduced various fixes, new cosmetics such as the Abyss set, and minor balance changes, but notably excluded any updates to the Stitcher. This omission fueled speculation about when and how its rework would arrive. Embark Studios has since reiterated that further balance improvements remain in progress, though no release window has been confirmed.

As ARC Raiders continues to evolve, nerfs to the Stitcher are expected to encourage more diverse loadouts and fairer progression across all weapon tiers. If implemented effectively, the upcoming balance changes could redefine the game’s top builds and create a healthier, more dynamic meta for both new and veteran players.
