NHS waiting lists: NHS England's own figures show 7.27 million cases on the elective waiting list as of mid-2026, with 2.48 million patients waiting more than 18 weeks and a median wait of 11.9 weeks against a pre-pandemic figure of 7.5 weeks. For most of those patients, paying for a private operation in Britain is still the better answer than flying anywhere, and Your Care Promise says so plainly on the page it built for exactly this decision, reserving India for the complex and revision cases where the wait or the price gap is large enough to matter.
