Walker initially joined the sorority in October 1966 through the Epsilon Epsilon Chapter at Michigan State University. A Detroit native, she earned a bachelor’s in mathematics education from Michigan State University, as well as a Master of Arts in guidance and counseling and a Doctor of Education in administration and supervision from the University of Michigan
